Mission Statement

The Northern Michigan House of Prayer exists to partner in the Great Commission by advancing prayer and proclaiming the beauty of Jesus and His glorious return.

What We Are

The NMHOP is an evangelical Christian religious order committed to praying for the release of the fullness of God’s power and purpose in Northern Michigan, the State of Michigan, Israel, and throughout the earth.

Who We Are

The Lord has called us to be a community of believers committed to God, each other, and to establishing and maintaining a house of prayer in Northern Michigan. We are committed to prayer and fasting in the spirit of the tabernacle of David, the Great Commission, and to living as forerunners, spiritually preparing ourselves for the unique dynamics of the end times while also doing our part to help prepare the Bride of Christ.

Ministry

The heart of our ministry is daily prayer with worship. Two figures from the Bible who inspire us in this are Anna, one of the first evangelists and intercessors in the New Testament, who prayed and fasted for over sixty years before Jesus’ first coming (Lk. 2:36-38), and King David, who organized and paid 4,000 musicians and 288 singers to worship God night and day (1 Chr. 23:1–25:31). The harp and bowl of Rev 5:8 demonstrate the heavenly marriage of worship and intercession as part of God’s end-time strategy.

We actively support and participate with local churches to win the lost, heal the sick, feed the poor, make disciples, and impact every sphere of society as we seek to walk out the two great commandments to love God and people.

Day and Night Prayer

The prayer room is the foundation of all ministry and outreach at NMHOP. Scripture teaches that night-and-day prayer is deeply connected to the release of the fullness of God’s power and purpose (Lk. 18:7–8; cf. Isa. 62:6–7). We are offering Jesus unremitting adoration and taking a stand in prayer for the manifestation of God’s justice in every realm of life.

Our story

We are a newly founded ministry just getting off the ground in August of 2019. We are located in the farming community of Black River, centrally located in Cheboygan County, Michigan. The Lord began laying the desire for a house of prayer on several hearts in this area about the same time our Founding Director, Timothy, and Chikako Pratt moved back home to Black River from Kansas City, in 2018. Thankfully, the little country stone church Tim grew up attending was vacant and made available for our use.

Our heart is to serve the body of Christ throughout Northern Michigan, to provide prayer covering for the church and her leaders and to do our part to help prepare the Bride of Christ for our Lord's soon return.
